The North American States came into existence on November 17th, 2026 after a referendum in Canada and the United States confirmed the creation of the new country, and dissolution of Canada and the United States.

On October 15th, 2026 a referendum was held in Canada and the United States on the option of joining the North American States. The creation of the NAS was an initiative started in 2015 to encourage and deepen economic and security ties between the two nations.
