Stone Cold Curlers 2011-2012
Stone Cold Curlers is a small curling league of little to no experience players who just like to curl. A relaxed atmosphere and a bit of exercise and fun for the long winter nights.

Curling Percentage Calculations
Since we can't figure out how percentage is calculated, we made up our own rules:
- Every shot is worth a potential 4 points.
- You score one point if you throw the correct curl.
- You score between 0 and 3 points depending on the quality of the shot:
- Guard: (includes all types of guards)
- Exactly perfect: 3 points
- Short/Deep/Slightly Off Centre: 2 points
- Short/Deep/Well Off Centre: 1 point
- Out of play, in the house: 0 points
- Draw: (Includes all draws into the house, and freezes)
- Exactly perfect: 3 points
- Slightly outside of cover/deep/shallow/slight bump on freeze: 2 points
- Well outside cover/deep/shallow/large bump on freeze: 1 point
- Out of play/out of the house/takeout on freeze: 0 points
- Hit: (Includes all hits/bumps/takeouts/wicks/etc)
- Exactly perfect: 3 points
- Hit not quite in correct location of stone/double takeout that only takes one stone/hit and stick rolling slightly/hit and roll that sticks, or slightly over rolls/promotion that is a bit too deep or shallow: 2 points
- Hit in wrong location of stone/really bad double takeout/hit and stick or roll that loses the stone/promotion that goes way off course: 1 point
- Miss/out of play: 0 points
Rules
Time
9 PM - 11 PM on Tuesday's.
Teams
There will be 4 teams consisting of 4 players each.
Game Rules
- The free guard zone rule will be in effect for all games. (You cannot remove a guard stone from play until the 5th stone of the end.)
- When not shooting, your team must be behind the tee line, or off the ice surface.
Games and Playoffs
There will be 4 rounds that are 4 weeks long, for a total of 12 weeks. Each team will play 12 games.
There will be three additional weeks for playoffs. 1st vs 2nd and 3rd vs 4th will play. Winner of 1vs2 gets a bye to final, loser of 1v2 plays winner of 3v4. The winner of this game plays in the final.
Game Flow
Matches will consist of 2 hours of play. A 10 minute warmup will start each match. The match will last 6 ends and each end should take approximately 15 minutes. If, due to delays beyond our control, 6 ends cannot be played, the score at the end of the final end played will be considered the final score. A new end should not be started if less then 10 minutes remain to the ice rental. Teams can continue to play past the 6 ends if time allows, but the score at the end of 6 ends will be the official score for the match.

Alternates
In the event that someone cannot make a match alternates will be asked to fill the spot.
Refunds
There will be no refunds unless for medical reasons. And the refund will be a partial refund.
